An email from one of our recently-joined members inspired this post: “I would also be very grateful if you could send me information about any publications, upcoming calls for papers, conferences, or other academic activities related to vampire studies.”1
We do have an events calendar on our site, which should see some action as Halloween creeps up on us. However, I was reminded of a segment I used to write for my personal blog called “Upcoming Books.” There, I covered “forthcoming non-fiction vampire books I’ve found mainly through Amazon and Amazon.co.uk.”2 Wouldn’t it be great to revive it? So, I went snooping on Amazon.
Pickings are slim. So slim, in fact, I only came across one item.
Please note though that publication dates can change and sometimes they’re not even published at all.3

I’m not familiar with Lawlor’s work, but they’ve also written Contagious Enemies: The Aberdeen Witch Trials (2026). Scottish vampires are a fairly niche subject, so I’m glad to see someone covering them. I’ve also got my eye on someone to review it for our journal. Fingers crossed.
